Switzerland: Great Easter Skiing
Easter skiing is an ideal way of spending time with your nearest and dearest and bonding by helping one another on the slopes or fostering some healthy competition if you’re already accomplished skiers.
When thinking of destinations for skiing trips, one place is sure to spring to mind – Switzerland. Long-recognised as one of Europe’s most popular skiing hotspots, the country is full of resorts catering for fans of the sport.
Among the most popular settings are the famous resorts of Verbier and Zermatt, but if you’d prefer to spend some quality time in quieter locations you might choose somewhere like Saas Fee or Wengen.
If you don’t want to restrict yourself to one place, you’ll find that many of the resorts are connected by lift systems and ski buses. If you decide to stay in Verbier, for example, you’ll find all four valleys can be accessed via the lifts and buses, as well as neighbouring Les Tzoumaz and Haute Nendaz.
A top location in the country is Graubunden, home to 1,000 peaks and covering more than 7,000 sq km. Among the resorts to be found here are St Moritz, Klosters, Davos and Flims/Laax and there are slopes in this region to cater for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.
A Warning to all Freeriders:
When you’re not spending time on the slopes, you might like to visit the shops and boutiques, call in at some of the bars or enjoy the stunning natural scenery to be found in the Swiss National Park and Grison Alps.
You’re sure to have a great time on and off the piste when you visit Switzerland.
