The Train Ride
There are many Intercity and local trains connecting Zurich Airport to the Main Station. It’s a short train ride through an urban landscape rich in variety. Most trains are modern double decker trains. Zurich has one of the densest railway networks world wide. Soon after the local station of Oerlikon the train ride leads through another tunnel. Then the train passes a viaduct offering a great view over the old industrial area of Zurich. Finally the train arrives on the track field in front of Zurich Main Station. Zurich Main Station is the door to the business and banking part of Switzerland.

There are not only suburban trains leaving from Zurich Main Station. There are also many international connections and trains to places all over Switzerland.
If you want a nice train ride in Switzerland, you either get your tickets at a counter in the main station. You can also check the time table in the internet. Buying your ticket in the internet is also an option. It’s important to buy the ticket before you board the train. They do no more sell tickets inside the train.
